Fold Forming Adventures

I’m teaching 2 sessions of the SCAD Summer Seminar to high school students this summer. Each session in 2.5 hours a day for 5 days. I’m teaching fold forming (not my choice) but hey it’s always good to learn new things. I set up a meeting with the jewelry tutor for a jump-start and have been working at least one a week to improve my skills and try some new techniques. I’ve done three samples so far and am hoping for at least 5 more by the time my students arrive.  I haven’t used a forging hammer in ages and let me tell you my forearm feels like I just finished a session at tennis camp. I can hardly make a fist let alone hold anything by the time I’m done. But it feels so good and I better be able to form for at least 2.5 hours straight by the time june comes around.
